post surgery

The protein shakes are the only only thing that stops any hunger pains. I find you really need to do the shakes between your 3 meals in order to get enough protein. I have one more week on full liquids and then I can start the very soft/pureed phase of the diet and I am hoping to have a much easier time getting all the protein in.

Most of the recipes they gave us are bad but ,a new one came and it's not bad.
I scoop whey power,I have vanilla, 1 packet of Crystal light classic orange,8 oz. Water , 5 to 10 icecubes.blend together. I made my daughter taste it and she liked it.I have two weeks to go until the soft diet ,it's getting harder to find something to eat.

HI I am new to this forum. I was wondering if anyone else is feeling very hungry post surgery? and if so does this go away....I am 5 days post op

Really glad you asked.

Yuuuuuuuup.

Actually, immediately post-surgery was really hard - I had the most severe, debilitating hunger pains I've ever had in my life. However eating ice chips in the hospital made the pangs go away when nurses giving me IV pain meds could not. Then, over the following week I would get the same hunger pangs every now and then so strong it would temporary cripple me, doubling over in pain. Just a shocking amount of hunger. It terrified me that instead of cutting back on the amount of ghrelin hormone my surgery accidentally increased it lol.

However, around day 10 or 12, somewhere in there - I realized I had stopped getting these huge pangs. Talking with my doc during a follow up, he said I was experiencing surgical pains - not hunger pains. I guess I simply was unable to tell the difference. Fast forward 7 months later, I get hungry and hangry and even get sharp pangs if I don't eat something...but nothing at all like immediately out of surgery.

Organic sugar free ? Can you post a pic of it?
