Protien

Me too I used to love hamburgers now I can’t stand them . I can eat steak though but it has to be cut up really tiny. Do not like cottage cheese anymore along with meat balls, eggs , bread sometimes , haven’t tried milk yet but since I don’t like protein shakes that much I probably won’t like milk

Tastes change so much after surgery. Please remind me, how far out are you and what are you allowed to eat? Is it all soft/pureed stuff? I had a hard time with protein on that stage too. Just forced myself to drink the shakes to get it in. Once I could have more regular foods, I ate a lot of cheese and chicken (I know, sorry Bill).

Does everyone's taste change? I love fruit & veggies and hate pasta, potatoes, & not fond of meat. I love the protein shakes and bars and not fond of cottage cheese or eggs. Does that mean my tastes will change and I will love pasta and potatoes and hate shakes???? Boy, will I be in trouble!

Hey there, chances are that yes, some of your tastes will change at least temporarily. Fortunately for me in the beginning I lost my sweet-tooth, no ice cream or any kind of potato chips or fries. So it was to my benefit for sure. Those tastes have returned to some extent but only in moderation (probably they way "normal" people always ate them, hehe).

So just don't go out and stock up on things you like now, thinking you'll still like them afterward. You'll learn along the way what you like. And you may like something for a month and then realize you can't stand it anymore. I think it's only the first couple years that your tastes change so often.

That said, totally worth it!!!
