Pureed food suggestions

I get to move to pureed foods today! I'm super excited to finally have some substance. Any good suggestions that are texture friendly? I struggle a lot with food textures and smells and it doesn't take much for me to throw up if its even the slightest bit off.

For breakfast I am having cottage cheese which I am not a fan of but its something.

I suppose it depends on what you like. You can puree just about anything. Not sure...throw it in a blender and see.

My most frequent pureed meals were: chili, refried beans, chicken, gravy & cauliflower, and tuna salad.

There were other things, of course, but I found a few that I liked well enough and just stuck with them. I'd make several servings at once and then just pick one when it was time to eat.

Really, you can throw just about anything into a blender and try it. Some will work, some won't turn out too well.....

Today I had pulled pork blended with a bit of BBQ sauce and some mashed potatoes. It tasted ok, tummy didn't like it too much. Tonight will be egg.

I am trying to focus on the protein since I'm struggling with the shakes.

I am pretty much sticking to hard boiled eggs mash up, pre made packages of tuna/chicken salads, and some cottage cheese. I did also buy the smoothies to add in scine I am not doing protein shakes frequently. I tried the recommended chili and that's a no go. Going to try it with homemade chili instead. Pretty much everything else I have had the texture has been off and i can't do it.

For me - it's harder to get my protein in if I'm eating things I don't care for. As with most things - each person's pureed food list will be different based on where they have surgery and their doctor. My pureed food list was anything that could easily be mashed with a fork. Things like egg salad, tuna salad (with mayo and vinegar), soups that had no pieces of anything in it that I couldn't mash with my tongue.

I ate and still eat Oikos triple zero yogurt - it has 15grams of protein per serving. I also had some of the Well Yes Campbell's soups that have higher levels of protein during my pureed food stage. Find some foods you like to eat and try those pureed. .

I'm able to have liver sausage, refried beans with melted cheese, hummus, scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt and regular food pureed with enough protein. Just had my surgery Tuesday t 29th and am doing great. Really no gas pains, I think my son got them out of me on our drive home from t hospital. Haven't needed to use t heating pad. I did get to stay in t hospital an extra day due to being weak with my knee that needs to be replaced. I have a walker now and it's much easier on my knee pain also the are sending PT to my home to help me build strength. My abdomen is sore which is normal so now I'm doing great looking forward to my knee replacement then I'll be done. Can't wait to wear a smaller size! Thanks for letting me share
