I was talking to a coworker who had the surgery about 6th ago. She told me to take gas x staring after surgery. The worst pain she said, she had was in her chest up to her arm. Like a heartache. She called her surgeon, and told her is was just gas to take the chewable gas x. Has anyone else experienced that discomforted after surgery?
One for question. How do you get the little cute ruler in your profile.

Hi Nicelady,

There is a lot of gas after surgery for sure since they actually pump air into you. For me, it was uncomfortable but nothing like your coworker described. Everyone is different I guess.

Oh - there are instructions for adding the ticker... found them:

Tickers: Tickers are those cool little graph pictures that show how much weight you have lost so far. Adding a Ticker Image to your signature is very easy to do.
Here’s the steps involved to add the Ticker:
1 – Go to Graphical Tickers and Trackers: Weight Loss, Trying To Conceive, Pregnancy...
2 – Select your Ruler, Click Next. Select your Slider, Click Next. Then fill out the information you want on the slider (normally just choose a password and fill out the Weight section), Click Next
3 – Highlight & Copy the BBCode.
4 – Login to your American Bariatrics Support Group account and click on SETTINGS on the top right. Then click on Edit Signature on the left side of the page. Then Paste the BBCode into the Signature box. You can preview the signature to see what it will look like.
5 – If you ever need to change your weight in the Ticker, just click on your ticker, then you’ll be asked to enter the password you used before you can change the weight.
 
Whew, child, that gas can be HORRIBLE! Mine wasn't that bad this go round, but with previous abdominal surgeries, it had moved up into my shoulder; felt like I'd been hit by a truck. @dianeseattle, you never cease to amaze me. I've heard a lot of things, but coming out through your skin is a first. I can't even begin to imagine what that was like.

YES! I had my surgery 11 days ago and had those same symptoms. I think I had actual pain from the surgery the moment afterwards but the most discomfort was the gas in my chest and arm. It's almost gone now.

I had surgery 9/16/2019. Gas x has been my friend. All gas seems painful. It is typically short lived, but painfull nonthe less. I have not had it as severe as you mention. The other highly recommended thing to take is a recommended laxitive....nuff said about that.
