Hi MamaBear ! I had my surgery at the end of November and haven’t had any problems getting food down . I eat about a cup too but sometimes can’t tell if I’m still hungry or full cause my stomach aches all the time don’t know if I’m full or hungry. I’m going to ask my surgeon when I see him on the 21.Most of u all know I had my surgery July 15, 2019. I have had my up and downs. But I keep going. Here is where dr's seem to differ, yet again lol. So according to my surgeon, I shouldn't be able to eat a full 8 oz in one sitting until I am 18 months out. I just started week 16 and they want me to bump up from 3 oz to 4 oz which I am finding that hard to do. While the dr gives it to me in oz, each oz should be measured by volume (because some foods are more dense than others.... an oz of marshmallows and an oz of chicken would be two totally different volume measurements but same weight... not that I'm eating marshmallows) and that equals 2 tbsp. My next bump ups are: 5 oz when I start month 7, 6 oz when I start month 10, 7 oz at one year, and 8 oz at 18 months. Most of u all know I had my surgery July 15, 2019. I have had my up and downs. It depends on what the food is for me. I can eat a cup of Greek yogurt or soup no problem, but I still struggle with meat and bread sometimes, and I’m 8 months out. Most of u all know I had my surgery July 15, 2019. I agree Julie, same here, totally depends on the food. In particular, bread, pasta and rice fill me quickly. This is actually great for me because these are type of carbs where my portion sizes were totally out of control pre-surgery. Picture a large dinner plate with a heaping, mound of spaghetti or a whole foot-long sub (essentially a loaf of bread!). Those were normal portions for me pre-surgery. And that would just be dinner, there was always a massive dessert and possibly chips or something salty while watching TV later... That's how you get to 290 pounds! Damn!It depends on what the food is for me. I can eat a cup of Greek yogurt or soup no problem, but I still struggle with meat and bread sometimes, and I’m 8 months out.
