hey! I wanted to send a message cause I’m wondering if you could answer some of my questions? i’m getting my surgery done in four days. I decided to go with my decision to getting it done because I want to feel better by myself, but I’m still very scared or anxious. I don’t know how to describe it. I’m more scared of the recovery like I’m not scared of being put under. I’m not scared of the idea of the surgery. I’m scared of not doing the right things for my surgery to go as planned afterwards. But overall, I know that this is gonna improve my health. It’s gonna improve my ability in living my life, being happier being around more just everything. But could you tell me how your recovery process was how it’s going right now when were you allowed to eat solids are you scared to eat solids and what about the leftover skin? I could’ve completely lose my breast? Can I work out for the leftover skin to me? Some of these questions i know are very childish. I guess put I’m only 18 years old and I don’t want to feel more insecure about my body than I already do.

Im new here and have not gotten the date for my surgery yet, but I do have all of the same fears and concerns that you do. My biggest issue is absentmindedness. I know I'll forget vitamins for a day or something. But I'm doing this surgery for my son as much as myself. So that is what drives me. So I would say to focus on the positive

They will take good care of you. Be honest with how you’re feeling. I had to stay an extra day because of nausea and I had a bit of blood loss but they keep an eye on you and give you what you need to feel better. My surgery went well and I could eat anything from the menus without problem as I went through the step of liquid, puréed etc. I can eat anything now. Just not much at a time. I continue to eat 6 “meals” a day and try to get the protein and hydration I need.
