Recommendations for clear liquid/full liquid diet phases

Hi all! New to the group! I will be having a gastric bypass close to the end of the month.. for severe GERD this time. I had a sleeve in 2019. I have such strange taste buds and I remember so many of the protein drinks just really grossed me out last time. I tolerated premiere protein chocolate but by the end, just the thought of it, made me gag. So, if ya'll don't mind sharing your favorite protein drinks and what got you through the clear and full liquid phase, I would really appreciate it!!

Hello, welcome.

I tried a bunch of clear premade protein drinks, most of them had a weird after feel in my mouth. (Hard to explain) Gatorade zero with protein was my favorite. I drank at least 1 everyday and only got tired of the red flavor, it started to taste too sweet.
I never had any luck at adding "tasteless" protein to anything. I could always taste it and it changed the texture of things. Maybe it was in my head or maybe not but I couldn't do it.

I used isolate clear protein. It had 40g of protein per 20oz bottle. I couldn't find it pre made when my husband had his surgery, in Feb. So I bought the isolate powder and just added 2 scoops to 20 oz to get the 40g. It's not ideal but you do what you gotta do to get your protein in.
For the clear protein I would mash in fresh herbs, basil, rosemary or whatever you like to take away some of the sweetness.
I prefer the fairlife protein shakes. the chocolate taste exactly like chocolate milk and the vanilla is not too sweet.

I loved the Fairlife chocolate protein shakes also, just like chocolate milk yum. But our Sam's Club stopped carrying them, so I guess Premier Protein chocolate shakes are close. Not really all that great, but my husband really likes them. He has a great deal of muscle weakness, especially his right leg, so I am trying to help him rebuild his strength with 30g protein shakes daily. At least I can find them almost anywhere I shop.

I prefer the strawberry and the chocolate peanut butter Premier Protein shakes, but my newest favorite is Premier Protein root beer float shakes. They are the best tasting protein shakes, followed by the Cinnamon Roll flavor that they discontinued, unfortunately. I just cannot make myself eat breakfast, so I start every day with a 30g protein shake.

I ordered them from Amazon. They're both powdered. The orange would be considered a clear protein I think, I like that it doesn't have an artificial sugar aftertaste. Nectar comes in all kinds of fruity flavors that are mixed with water. The Matrix is made by the same company. It doesn't have that aftertaste either, but its mixed with milk. They're drinkable to me, I can't handle Premier or any other pre-made shakes except fairlife.
