Good Day All- I am having Sleeve to Bypass on June 11th, due to severe GERD. I had my VSG 6 years ago- I am extremely nervous and I know that this surgery is a lot more intense and life altering. Has anyone else gone through this? Any tips, tricks or encouragement please!

I'm right there with you! I had my Sleeve done 7 years ago and am now in the process of going from sleeve to bypass. Gerd and a large hiatal hernia are the reasons. It's looking like I'll have surgery in August. I'll be keeping an eye on this post too.

*update* recovery a little more difficult than sleeve. I am having a hard time getting in my fluids! So far my pouch will only tolerate pork for meat haha and make sure you measure out your 2 tbsp and eat SLOW. I have these little tiny catering spoons I use to help from eating too fast which was always my problem with my sleeve. I have already had an episode where I ate too much and my new stomach felt like it was gonna pop for hours, highly do not recommend. Good luck !!:)

I had sleeve done 5 years ago. Went from 225 down to 140. I have gained back up to 172, with SEVERE GERD diagnosed and hiatal hernia. Having the gastric bypass revision this fall, just finished with all requirements and package is being sent to insurance for approval. No surgery date set yet, but I’m also nervous about going through the process after surgery again. I had no surgery pain last time, but not sure how it’ll be this time.

I was never able to lose more than 60lbs with the sleeve and I had regain too. My GERD is pretty much gone since my revision surgery and the pain was probably just as bad as the sleeve. Mainly just gas and pain where they put the "stitch" on the lower right hand incision. You will do just fine! It's a bit harder mentally I feel like just because you can only take baby baby sips, but so far that has been the hardest part for me. Good luck! let me know how your surgery goes.
