smoking

I quit smoking on May 4th. I have had 2 ciggs since and that is it. It made me feel extremely nauseous. I should still be able to get my surgery right?!
My preop is 7/8 and my surgery is 7/15.

I took an at home nicotine/cotinine test and it came out negative. Hope its the same kind of test the Doctor does. Heck no Im not gonna even touch a cigarette!!

Stay strong! You don’t want those cigarettes as much as you want the surgery. Don’t risk all your hard work girl ;)

I’m scared I am gonna fail I’ve been stressing out and vaping
stop. don't vape. don't smoke. it's not like you can go back after surgery and everything will be all right. You have enough problems already, and preparing for surgery, then having surgery, then recovering from surgery, then learning how to eat correctly to maintain your results, are all so consuming you shouldn't be adding nicotine & tar to your cardiovascular system.

I say this to you as a nicotine habitue. There's nothing I love more than a cigarette. I could survive smoking one cigarette a day, just so long as I was guaranteed I'd be allowed to have that ONE. I am completely and eternally addicted to cigarettes, but I've quit twice for five years and once for 10 years. At this time, I jones all day for a smoke and try to fight the urge. Then I wake up the next day and feel the same way. I avoid having cash on hand because it would be so easy to go up the street and pick up a pack of butts if I had money with me.

It's an addiction, like any drug or substance, including sugar or alcohol or fast food--whatever gets you through the night.

Ask yourself what you REALLY want. If you keep smoking, it's obvious you don't really want to improve your health. You want to surrender to an addiction. I feel ya. But you don't need sympathy. You need to make a commitment and keep it.
