So next weekend we are going on a road trip. About 5 hours. I was gonna get snacks for the boys but what kind of good road snacks could I take for myself that won't break my calories or that feel sinful but aren't? Kind of at a loss and don't want to feel left out.

My go to car trip snacks are cheese sticks, protein bars and flavored protein waters. I used to bring the 100 calorie Emerald nut packages, but who was I kidding, 20 tiny nuts feels more like a punishment than a snack! The variety you can find in protein bars is amazing. I prefer Quest and they are sold individually at grocery stores and pharmacies so you can get an assortment and they are the perfect size, take a while to eat and are satisfying! Quest also has flavored individual packs of high protein chips that are ok but they make me thirsty. I don't eat them very often but the nacho flavor is great as a base for a taco salad.

I specifically eat Aloha protein bars. I eat the peanut butter cup ones. I love them, but not so much that I'll eat more than one per day. They are filling and they taste good. There are lots of good choices out there for protein bars.

My favorite snacks are unsalted nuts and seeds. I love all nuts and seeds, but I usually eat walnuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds. They make great snacks.

Yes, cheese sticks are great snacks!

You could also bake up some chickpeas for a crunchy snack.

Apples and peanut butter or Triscuits and cheese slices are yummy snacks, too.

Those are my ideas.
