I'm heading out for a 10-day road trip around Idaho, Montana, and Washington, going "off-grid" camping, hiking in the Rockies, and lots of photography. I wouldn't have attempted camping and hiking before surgery. It's a bit of a "vision quest" as I'm going alone (my wife didn't want to leave the garden since everything is producing like crazy right now, and my daughter has volleyball and school). It will be a little bit of a food challenge, but I'm not going to concern myself too much about being strict with anything. I have a cache of protein bars and will stop and get whole veggies/fruits to keep in my cooler.
Anyway, I'm excited to do something like this that I used to do a lot when I was younger. I'm sure I'll be ready to get back to my regular routine by the time I get home, but I"m sure it will be an enjoyable time.
If I get any good pics I'll share some when I return.
