I'm going to the gym tomorrow. Was thinking of riding the bike for 1 hour. What do you think? I have to take a kinesiology class starting February 11. Was thinking of weight lifting Tuesday and Thursday for class and cardio from the gym. Any suggestions

Great idea! I started back at the gym a month ago and I'm feeling stronger already. I ride the bike and then lift weights, three days a week. Drink lots of water while you exercise. I bring a water bottle with me every time. Don't forget to stretch! I superset when lifting so my heart rate stays up, it's a really great workout and the extra strength helps when standing for long hours at my job. My back hurts less than it used to.

I am not really a gym person... my plan for exercise right now is a lot of walking, and eventually hiking.

I have never enjoyed exercise, for various physical, psychological, emotional, and lifestyle reasons. So that is a part of my recovery and lifestyle change that is going to be VERY difficult for me. I know it must be done, but it feels like a worse chore than changing my eating habits.

It's hard to walk in my neighborhood. I am trying to save to move.
I am lucky to have green trails in my neighborhood. But my wife and I like to go to various parks in our area. Especially with our dogs. I hope to start doing that again very soon, but I got winded just cleaning up for gardener!

I agree with you about exercise. Always hated it and still do. But I make myself and feel better when it's over. That's the best I can say about it. ;)

6 days out from surgery, I'm walking 3 rounds through my house multiple times per day. That gets me winded, but better every day.
I have been getting about 1300 steps each of the last 2 days, and you're right, it is definitely draining. I am just starting to ramp up protien shakes, so hopefully that will help with the energy.

I also feel a little brain foggy. I friend came over to play cribbage today, and she practically had to re teach me how to play. haha

A big problem I've had is constipation since being on the pre-op protein shake diet. I think I'm getting a handle on it. I'm in a trial and error mode over it.

That sucks, I hope it ends soon.
