Still hungry

Today is my 1st day for Phase 3 pureed food. For breakfast I had one scrambled egg mixed with one mini moo cream to thin it out. For lunch I had 2 oz of canned chicken pureed with one teaspoon of light mayo. For mid afternoon snack I had Stage 2 Beech Nut apples & banana baby food. I was full for 10 minutes & now I'm hungry. Is this normal? I will add a protein shake this evening, but I'm thinking I should have had it earlier. I'm also eating every 2-3 hours. Any insight is greatly appreciated.
 
How much protein and calories are you consuming? The purées really aren’t meal replacements, they are part of gradually introducing real food, but you should keep up on the protein shakes and supplements and liquids. You could have purées for meals and snacks or whenever. The important part is maintaining that 60 to 75g of protein.

Also, when you feel hungry, really make a concerted effort to examine what you are feeling. Is it really hunger? Do you feel empty? Or, are you craving the taste or texture of something? Those are things I struggle with, but often I discover that it’s not really hunger. That being said, if you aren’t getting enough protein or calories, you may indeed feel hungry.
 
I had trouble tracking my food intake and certainly didn't know much about protein etc. My nutritionist gave me a list of apps to try. I'm using Baritastic. There's also Food Tracker. You can enter your food and drink, daily water and even your exercise. The app can scan labels for easy entry. The apps are the easiest way to track your daily calorie intake, protein, and water so you can see if you're getting enough.
