Thank you. It’s been pretty good. My sleep is off. I sleep until noon. Up all night until 3 or 4. Then I only eat twice a day. I’m getting my protein in every day though. I made egg salad puréed today. It wasn’t bad! LolWelcome! How has healing been so far?
Thank you! Hi Diane. I’m April. 52yo female in CA. I have lost 12 pounds since surgery. I wish I could drink a whole bottle of water at once. If I drink too much at once I get a full feeling. I add crystal light to my water. I also eat sugar free popsicles. I haven’t had a problem with any food I’ve tried yet. I need to get my sleep back on track. I’m going back to work soon. I had RYGB laparoscopic. I am alone in CA as my family is in the Midwest. So turkey day today wasn’t an issue. I’m flying home for Christmas though. I’m already shipping protein shakes to my moms. Lol. I haven’t been hungry at all. How long does that last?Welcome! What would you like to be called, and what's your gender? It's easier to start sharing when you know who you're talking to.
I'm diane (yes, I use lower case for each part of my loooooong name--ask me why later), a writer from Seattle, unapologetic hippie, 70yo female, RYGB in 2008, 115 pounds lost in the 14 months following. I've been part of this group since 2015.
How's your water consumption? Any real challenges to your daily sanity? VSG or RYGB, laparoscopic or open, weight loss so far?
Again, welcome.
Heidi, that sounds horrible. I am sorry you have had such a hard time. As you start to lose the weight and really feel better, you'll probably start to feel better emotionally as well. How is your healing coming along, since you got out of the hospital? This group can be a great source of support and it's really helpful to have support from people who have been through it or are going through it. So I hope you stay involved here and wish you a speedy recovery!Hi Spader6th, I had my surgery on 11/8/2021. I actually had a difficult time and was in the hospital until the 16th. The doctor said I had a rare experience. I had a blood clot in my stomach after surgery, which caused me to throw up so much blood I required a blood transfusion. The doctors eventually removed the blood clot.
I am a 48-year-old southern girl. I do not have much of a support system. I was so excited to have this surgery but this entire week I have been extremely depressed. I am happy you soud well.
