Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I had a wonderful day with family. I made a big meal like I do every year and it was enjoyed by all. Something I noticed that was somewhat bothersome to me was everyone commenting on how slow I was eating. For a little back story I am a chronic fast eater. I’m usually done with a big meal in 5 minutes or less. That was before surgery. Now I am much more deliberate and slow with my meals because I don’t want to get sick and I also have to watch for my cues that I’m done eating a lot closer. It kind of pissed me off that no one had anything better to talk about than how slow I was eating and I was holding up everyone going in to watch the football game (rule in my house is no one turns the TV on until everyone is done eating). So maybe this attention was my fault since I have this rule in my house. Regardless it made me very self conscious. Still learning I guess!

Don’t give up! I haven’t had my surgery yet but that sounds irritating. Things like that have happened in my previous weight loss journeys. There’s only so much we can take. I’m not sure if it’s like that for other people. Hang in there and Happy Holidays!
I guess next time I will bend the rules and just let them go watch the game. It really wasn’t worth it. I just hate having the TV on when people are eating, but for the sake of self preservation…
