Three weeks post op- gaining??

I am three weeks post op today. I feel like I have been doing well. Healing good. Been on the dreaded liquid diet forever... two weeks pre surgery and for the last three weeks as well. I have lost a total of 34 pounds since my journey began so I am excited to see weight come off. Since surgery I gained a few due to the fluids while at the hospital , so I was so glad to have been prepared for that from reading posts here.... after relosing that I had been losing consistently daily until last Wednesday when it came to a halt. I haven’t lost a thing since and notice this morning I had even gained weight - I know I shouldn’t panic about a pound but when you have gone through the effort of surgery and liquids for weeks how did I gain a pound??? I am paranoid that I am going to stall and reverse. I am worried about even starting my soft foods for fear of adding in calories. Any words of advice?

Oh man, that first stall is the literally WORST! I was positive I had somehow screwed up the entire surgery and was ruined for life. You are going to stall and occasionally gain pretty regularly. I hope you read Ryan's link. It has actual medical facts regarding how your body processes weight loss. I would absolutely suggest doing a little of your own research into this area. It's actually fascinating and having the knowledge makes it (slightly) easier to deal with the emotional upheaval of those ups and downs of the scale.

I refuse to let the scale affect my behavior. It is fun when I hand my belt to husband when I need another hole. Last night I noticed something new. When I put my beach towel around me I tucked it in and I had no belly showing. I could use one towel for my body. I was amazed. Today when I put my booby supporter on I did not struggle half as much as I usually do. I like the non scale victories.
