Well after visiting the eye doctor today, and if I didn’t have enough on my plate, I found out that I have cataracts! So I decided I needed to treat myself to something new. Trader Joe's it is.

I was there with my dilated eyes for a good two hours. I perused every isle, every corner, and every other shopper's cart, because I didn't want to miss a thing. It was like an E ticket at Disneyland, most of you youngsters don't even know what that is! I guess you have to be old enough to have cataracts!

Anyway back to my adventure. I only brought three bags, because I wasn't expecting to buy much, I wasn't expecting to be able to see much, dilated eyes and all, but I saw a lot.

Produce, oh my! Jack is in berry heaven now! I'm not gonna tell you every thing I got, but I picked up some stuff for dinner and the very best part.....

I bought not one, but two bunches of fresh flowers for ME!

As I was pulling out of the parking lot, I was waiting to turn left, just as the traffic cleared a car approached from the opposite parking lot with its left blinker on. I knew I had the right of way, but to be cautious (dilated eyes and all) I hesitated I second to make sure he was yielding, which he did. Right then the car behind me sounds his horn. This kind of thing really rattles me. Right after the horn a siren went off. The car opposite me was a cop. I thought oh no I'm getting pulled over! But nope, he went for the horn blower!

That was the best way to end my Trader Joe's experience!

You may notice I'm a bit more chipper. I haven't gotten my new meds yet, waiting for pharmacy, but knowing there is a reason for the way I've been feeling is helping. Also just getting out today, half blinded as I was, doing something different, buying myself flowers, just felt good.

I also bagged up three more bags of clothes to donate. It is hard to let go some of my favorite clothes.

I also made this cap for my grandson last night and have gotten requests for more shoes, mittens and hats.

These are the shoes I made him.

Crocheting relaxes me, and interacting with my daughter means the world to me!

Awwww so cute. And bootie-licious too (meant to be funny, not obnoxious, please understand my silly sense of humor!). Lucky you to have Trader Joe's. I'm happy you had so much fun there. ❤❤

Sorry to hear about the cataracts, my husband has them and has surgery scheduled for December. I think it is time to get my eyes checked too.

But loved your Trader Joe story!!! And the crochet baby items are adorable!!

So glad your spirits are up Kathi and hope that continues!!

I'm glad you had a nice day and the flowers for yourself are a nice touch. Also, the cap and booties are too cute. You should crochet him an ugly sweater for Christmas lol
