Trouble Drinking

I'm having such a hard time drinking since having my surgery. I make the protein bouillon and make my cups and wait for the pain to pass between sips but it takes so much time for the spasm to pass that I'm not getting my 8 oz an hour or 2 oz every 15 min. I'm basically getting 1oz every 15 min. It's even harder with protein shakes as they are heavier. I'm honestly worried about dehydration and lack of enough protein.

Ive also been dealing with pain when eating or drinking. Couldn’t drink the protein drinks without getting pain and then sick to my stomach if it lasted too long. I talked to my doctor and he said to dilute them or try different brands. He said it might be too much for my body to handle right now. Adding a little water did help but I found that by drinking the peach and banana flavors worked even better. Not too much problem now. I just make sure I take small bites and chew very well.

April you're going to be okay. You are so fresh, like a newborn baby. You know how newborn babies look and how blind they are and how they fumble around with their fingers and toes to try to find Mommy? Well that doesn't last long and then the next thing you know they're pooping and grinnin. Like you'll be very soon...

I think this hernia repair really did a number on me. It is so painful to drink anything.

I found warm was easier than cold at first. Stay on top of it and good luck. It gets easier every day.

Any luck with ice chips? I kept a cup by my side the entire first 2 weeks.
I found that ice pops are my go to now, they are pretty easy to get down. I also have been adding protein to soup because I can't drink any of the shakes. All these sweet tasting things at this stage are so awful, I'd much rather have a chicken. And spinach flavored shake, haha. I can't believe I hate chocolate. Never thought that would happen.
