I officially hit 2 months post-op Saturday.
Just a few fun shares.
I have lost 48 lbs since surgery!!! (84 total)
I had to move my the seat up in my truck.
My knees do not grind as I walk up steps anymore.
My blood pressure is on the LOW side of perfect.
All of my clothes are too big, way too big.
My shoes are loose/roomier.

I am so amazed at how quickly our bodies change. But, what amazes me the most is how we (at least me) don't even notice as it slowly changes for the worse but EVERY SINGLE TINY thing stands out when it is changing for the better.

I had 2 cookouts this weekend and it didn't even phase me.

At my family cookout, I made avocado salad (avocado, peppers, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, olive oil, lime juice, garlic) I ate this and grilled chicken breast with regular BBQ sauce on it. (Everyone there knew I had bypass, the only question I got was "What can you eat now" I said, anything, my SIL said ok cool.

At my friends cookout, I ate 2 deviled eggs and 2 of the tiny party size meatballs. Then I picked some cucumber out of the pasta salad. (No one knew I had bypass, no one questioned my tiny plate of food)

I was satisfied at both and had no urge to munch.

I have zero complaints, zero regrets.

That's great! Awesome control at both parties too! It looks like you know your limits well!

Wow, before you know it you’re gonna be at 100 pounds lost. 84 pounds is amazing! It sounds like you can eat raw vegetables with no problems. My binder of information has raw vegetables (especially lettuce) listed as “problem foods” so I just avoid them.

How did it go eating in front of people? Did you feel self conscious at all? Did you forget to chew extra long because you were talking to people? I sometimes swallow too soon when I’m talking too much, so I just need to shut up and focus on chewing, LOL!

I have been fine with all veggies, raw or cooked. Although, I have not tried an actual bowl of lettuce like a salad yet but I have had shredded lettuce on a chicken salad wrap but only ate a few bites of the wrap assembly and then just ate the chicken. All that was ok. I plan to as my next experiment just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Eating in front of people seems normal to me. Just a smaller plate of food. No, I don't forget to chew or chew enough while talking. I have always been kind of a slow eater, so it is not really a problem for me. I started counted and training my extra chews before surgery so now I think it is just habit.
