Upper extremity DVT

I’m one week post op and found out I have a DVT. Thank God they warned us about it. To be honest though I’m kind of panicking even though I started my blood thinners yesterday. Has anyone else had this?

I have not, but I have family members that have due to other surgeries. It is frightening, but at least you found it and are being treated now!

DVT’s are common post operatively(I’m a healthcare provider). The good thing is you are being treated now and will have appropriate follow up. Don’t let this discourage you. It’s a bump in the road that shouldn’t influence the success of your surgery. Wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery!!
