Weight watchers after surgery

Does anyone know when you are ready to eat again( down the road) that weight watchers is a good thing to try? Just curious. Thanks
Hi Redy- I love it! I joined WW for years every January for a few weeks with a new resolve. I'd get to see them roll out new recipes, booklets, point strategies each year. I'd lose about 15 lbs and then drop out. I thought about them just this week! I was thinking that it might give me extra accountability, while at the same time, I could be the star pupil, having a certain undisclosed advantage. I have successfully lost 80 lbs at WW 3 different times, but always gained it back plus some. I never made it to goal weight and never made it to the maintenance program. The diet my doctor gave me is very high in protein and tiny amounts of carbs. That would be in conflict with the WW method, I think.

WW is now a point system that allows anything you want to eat as long as it remains in your point limit. Mine was, I think 28 points. All fruit, vegetables and chicken breast are "free" foods, as in you do not have to count them against your daily limit.
I think it worked pretty well but I just did not like having to keep up with those points. I did lose 14lbs in two months but then I quit following it.

I went to weight watchers along time ago before I had kids. And I never really liked it nor did it help me any. I stayed close to the same weight even when I followed the diet. I lost more weight on a high protein low carb diet then I ever did with weight watchers. it may be harder because I don't eat pasta or bread any more. The only hard part that I really had to change for the surgery was no more beans and rice and no more tortillas. I eat more hispanic foods. But I have learned to stop. And I know it is not forever just until my body adjust to the surgery and the new way it is adjusted. But for now I have stayed true to my diet but of course I have doctors appointments everyweek because they do not want me slipping. And I thank them every day for that.

And truthfully we do not need to compare our loss with anybody else. But if you want a group thing maybe you should take to different members and see when you all can get on at the same time and make a group chat talking about what you think you did good or what your all did wrong during the week give information about how long you all worked out, and your calories during the week.

I was joking when I said I thought about going to WW. I think that my sleeve and high protein diet would put me at a distinct advantage. WW doesnt work because it allows for people to engineer their own diets. You can have pasta, chips, crackers, desserts as long as you drink water and stay within points. Abstaining from high carbs eliminates my craving for crap food. WW gave me plenty of opportunity to sabotage my weight loss.

That is the way to think about it. Our diet is more stricter but it is for our own health that it is. But it would be a good ideal to have a day we all get one and talk about how we think our week went. And at least do a weigh in once a month or so. That way we can encourage each other.

I've the idea..momma bear you name our group and we can track our group from that..sound ok with anybody else?

I would not know what to name us. Because it would have to be something to fits for men and women because we do have some males in the group. That is one I would have to think about for awhile
