What to bring to eat at All-Day events?

My daughter is on the Winter Guard team at her high school. Shows are on Saturdays from now until the end of March. We typically leave home around noon, not to return until after 10pm. The schools always have food for sale but being on the soft food phase of post-op recovery I know there won't be anything I can have. What would you suggest I bring with? If you have recipes, please include them. I've thought of seafood/chicken/egg salads, but I don't have any experience making them, especially with my restricted intake!! Protein shakes, yogurt... I probably have to figure on eating 2-3 times including snacks.
THANKS!!

Thank you Letrell. You are truly ambitious! Can I anticipate having that kind of energy when I reach my goal weight? I'm not sure my family will be able to handle that! Thank you also for your post on what you eat now. That truly gives me something to look forward to and will help me through the rough days!

Mexicogirl-Congrats on your weight loss, you are doing fantastic :)

Although I am pre-surgical I can offer a couple of suggestions that are quick and easy. They are probably not as delicious as what Letrell can offer but it's a start until you can get more suggestions. How about packing some hard boiled eggs, yogurt and low fat cottage cheese. You can stir some flavored or unflavored protein powder into the cottage cheese and yogurt for a protein boost. Don't forget to take some salt and pepper for your eggs. And most importantly, make sure you pack everything in a cooler with plenty of ice packs.

Thanks Pat! It will be a challenge because taking in a cooler will not comply with the rules, but hopefully I can convince anyone who questions me that it is necessary!! They don't like you bringing your own food because it takes away from the school's profits for the day!! I'm so excited about this season - my daughter's third year! But I don't want it to take away from how I have done so far with the bariatric program. I go to see the nutritionist in two weeks - I'm sure she will be able to help me too.

MexicoGirl-Providing you are unable to get "permission" to bring a cooler, one option is to leave the cooler in your car. You can take a walk back to the car to eat or to stick your food in your pocket to bring it back inside to eat. I'm sure you can figure out a way to be discreet. I've wracked my pea sized brain trying to figure out what soft foods do not require refrigeration and the only things I come up with are hot cereals (pre-packaged add hot water), fruit cups and sugar free pudding cups. And of course you could live off of protein drinks. I would just ask in advance about the cooler rule. You have a medical need to follow a specific diet so I don't really think it will be an issue. How different is this than a diabetic needing to bring an insulin pen or a syringe and a vial of insulin? Not one bit of difference :)
