You know you have a toolbox. There are all sorts of resources where you can find the tools you want to add.

My favorite tools by far were the scales and measuring devices because I knew I was a big fat cheater who'd count every crumb I dropped or drop I spilled. I was in for a big shock once I started measuring. The amount I consumed was reduced drastically and my weight reflected it.

What's your favorite tool?

Me, too, since September 2025. I feel so much more in control and I'm eating much, much better than I used to. Seeing the data at first was shocking. I'm not sure why. I was huge! But somehow, I kept telling myself and others for years, no decades, I really don't eat that much and what I do eat is healthy. Hmmm. Tracking my daily consumption is a huge help to me.

My other tool, as I've shared before, is Zepbound. I was so against this at first. I was sure it was cheating and a weight loss fad that sounded too good to be true. From the first minutes after my first injection on February 28, 2026, I haven't been hungry. I didn't even know I had food noise until it was gone. It was downright surreal. I quickly accepted and embraced this new reality of mine. I love the Zepbound. So, why am I still getting the sleeve bariatric surgery?

My bone-on-bone severe osteoarthritis in my knees causes me intense 24/7 pain, especially at night. My grandma and great grandma died from Diabetes in their early 70s. I am pre-diabetic. I have sleep apnea, high blood pressure, high triglycerides, and more comorbitities. Furthermore, because my A1C was 6.4 in January, not 6.5, Premera won't cover it and I'm paying Lilly Direct $404 a month for it. That's not sustainable knowing I'd need to stay on it permanently. Premera will cover and pay for my surgery in full. So, to lose weight and get knee relief sooner/quicker, and to ultimately save lots of money, I am getting the surgery.

Joining this group helps me not give up on this goal because you all share the pros and cons, your stories, your tools, and your information. So, this group is my other tool. Thank you!

I am glad your able to get the zepbound. It is just too much for me, my insurance won't cover it, but they will cover the gastric bypass surgery. I know I need to loose the weight to help with all my health issues and I need the surgery to help me get there.
