Just checking in...3 months out!

Hi everyone, just wanted to check in. I haven't been on for a while, life has been crazy. We've had 2 deaths in the family within the past month, and with the holidays, it's just been tough. Things are slowing down, finally!

Otherwise, I'm doing really well! I'm feeling so much better! My 3 month anniversary will be this Thursday, the 17th. I no longer hate myself and I'm no where near miserable, like I was. I knew the "OMG, what did I do to myself" phase would come but I didn't know it would be that bad. Luckily, it is just a phase and now I am happy I made the decision to have the surgery. I'm doing well eating what I should and also not eating what I shouldn't. As of this past Sunday, I'm down 65.5 lbs and I'm feeling GREAT! I've started exercising a lot and using dumbbells to try to tone up my arms. I've went through too much and have come too far to let it go and be saggy...my arms need some serious work before tank top season!

I forgot to take pictures on my 2nd month anniversary with everything going on :( but I will this week (for month 3) and post 1 month out and 3 month pics to show my progress. And I'm going to do a better job of staying in touch! This forum is so helpful and I really appreciate all of the support and words of encouragement...especially from people who are going through or went through the same things as I did. It's easy for anyone looking in to give advice or make assumptions but it's you guys that help the most.

Hope everyone is doing well and had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Oh yea.....GO RAVENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;););)

Hi Kara:
I am Angie I will be three months out in 7 days yea ;) Wow sound as busy as I am. Sorry about the deaths. I use a stationary bike with all those hills etc controls. I am starting a free weight thing I hope tonight. And time for my abs. My daughter has all kinds of exercise stuff, the bike is at my house. You had a great loss so have I. It was a little rough in the hospital and I ended up with a bowel surgery after that smooth sailing. I dance at noon for a have hour with my 2 young grand kids 2& 5. Always doing something. I can like you eat almost anything keep adding a new thing here and there. I think the best thing about all this is my self esteem has risen to a all time high lol love it. Can do things I have not been able to do for years and I am happy. So I share those feelings you have. I agree this is a wonderful group and they are very supportive. Congrats and welcome back. Keep up the good work.
Oh one thing No Ravens
Die Hard Bengals fan lol
Love my football. Have a great day.

That's great, good for you! It's really nice to see the light at the end of the tunnel and hear success stories! I still have a lot to lose but seeing results sure does help! Dancing is a great way to lose the weight! I have two boys, around the age of your grandkids...they are 6 and 4 and so much fun! They keep me going and now that weight is coming off, I can keep up with them a lot easier than I could before. I did this moreso for them than I did myself. When I keep them first, it makes it easier to stick with because I'm not as concerned about myself as I am about them. The positive attitude really makes all the difference. Keep up with it, you're doing great! We'll be in shorts and tank tops in no time! :D

Thank you for the kind words!

I am a die hard football fan too! LOVE my Ravens! We're taking it all the way, lol!!!

Glad you are doing so well Kara, and have a good attitude.
I love football too, but can't get too excited about who will play in the Super Bowl this year :(
