I thought it might be interesting, maybe, to read what "strange" food combinations people eat post-surgery. I'm talking about the foods/meals you eat that make other people's faces sort of scrunch up and say, "Um, what?"
One reason I'm interested in this is that I'm really trying to force myself out of my food comfort zone and eat an ever-growing diversity of foods and food combinations. I've expanded my food selections greatly over the past year. It's helped keep my daily routine interesting and not the same stuff day after day. However, there are a few things that I eat very often, too.
Here's my "weird food" (which may not sound weird to you, but it did to me the first time I considered it):
Toast, with a layer of sauerkraut, topped with smashed avocado, topped with a fried egg.
That seemed very odd when I first saw it, but I LOVE IT. It's high in fiber, good fat, good protein, and is probiotic. It's very satiating. The sauerkraut and avocado complement each other with the sour cutting the fat at the same time as the fat subdues the sour. The egg actually, to me, makes the entire thing taste and have a similar texture to an egg salad sandwich.
So that's one of my weird things....what do you eat that other people find a bit odd, or you think they would find odd?
