Hello I am 9 years post surgery tomorrow. My doctor closed his practice and I never had follow-up after a couple months or any support group at all. Literally did it on my own and did pretty good. Kept the weight off for 6-7 years and then it slowly started to come back on, especially the last 2 which is when I started to have a lot of intestinal issues. Not one doctor could tell me what was going on until one day, during a pancake breakfast I ended up in the hospital. A hospital doctor told me after a few days there that she had a therory and I was like - OMG - of course. Dumping syndrome. I had never even had it after surgery but one time so it wasn't on my radar, even though I continually told doctors that I was concerned that was going on with me had to do with my surgery. Anyway, long story, short - changing my diet and back to basics. I have never even been on bariatric vitamins and now have them. So now I need all your help if you could to get me back on track. When I first had my surgery I was 245 and it took me well over a year to get down to 170. Not my goal weight but again, on my own I thought was not bad. I am now up to 201 and getting the dumping under control but need emotional support. I am having an agiogram tomorrow for some heart thing and after that is taken care of I am joining a health program at the local hospital but I know this is only a start. I believe a lot of this started in 2015 when my spouse suddenly passed away and my eating habits and exercise most likely dramatically changed. Anyway, that is my sob story - don't even know how to participate in such a group but know that I am ready and open. Thank you one and all for any and all.
