3 days post-op

I did it! Surgery went well, had gastric bypass with hiatal hernia repair on Wednesday. The first night was really rough, with extreme nausea. I ended up have dry-heaves which were incredibly painful and set back my discharge, so 2 nights in the hospital instead of one. My surgery was laparoscopic and the gas pain from that was no joke. Finally home yesterday, and I am up 9# from the morning of surgery due to being pumped full of fluids. I am SO swollen in my abdomen, legs and hands. Anyone else have this happen? On the bright side, I’m taking fluids well and was able to sleep in my bed last night for a solid 4 hours. AND I had a bowel movement went I got home , it truly is the little things!

Yay you pooped!!! Just ask Diane how wonderful that is after surgery. I'm sorry about your setback, but I'm glad you're on your way to healing and living this new chapter of your life. Luckily I didn't have that swelling, but I'm happy you recognize the reason for that temporary weight gain. It will start melting off and the fun begins! ❤❤
