So, i had gastric bypass surgery on May 31st, 2019. Its been a long hard road since i had the surgery, but i would definately do it again. Some things to have pre-op are your iquid pain meds and liquid tylenol at home , prior to surgery. Also, have your fridge and freezer filled with whatever phase food you at in. ..ie. phase 1 clear liquid was where i started post op. Once your admitted, have your nurse order an abdomen compression belt. It helps once your out of surgery, it holds everything in place. I still wear mine seven days post oppt. As far as what to wear while in the hospital, what worked for me was to wear their big gown on front and wear my robe when walking the halls. Also wear earpluggs when trying to sleep. Now im gonna be real, the pain is terrible when your first out of surgery but they keep it at bey with the pain meds and tylenol. Keep up with having them as prescribed. Hang in there the pain gets better each day. Also , walk the halls to get rid of gas from surgery, that also releaves pain and pressure. Just thought id give an ubdate and hopefully was helpfull
