A month in, and I couldn't be happier!

I had my one month check up on Tuesday and everything went great! They didn't run any blood tests, stated they will do that again at my 6 month check up. But they are very happy with my progress so far. I have started soft foods (and the best part.... I love eggs now!), I started back to work yesterday, and I am still getting in at least 3 miles a day. For my three miles, I am now jogging two miles consecutively and walking the last (which the last time I jogged was in junior high). I was completely drained by the end of day yesterday, and am at that point now even though I know I still have 3.5 hours left at work. This new lifestyle is a complete adjustment but it is worth it. I am almost to my weight loss halfway point and I have never felt better. I was able to do all of my house cleaning in one swoop this past weekend instead of having to take breaks every so often to rest. And after doing my measurements, I am down 30 inches total since mid July! I couldn't believe it! It is the hardest thing I have ever done, but there are no regrets to be seen. I still have a long road ahead of me, but I know that it is possible and the light at the end of the tunnel is getting bigger and bigger. Now, if I could just convince my boss to get a few cots/beds in the office for periodic naps then life would be perfect :p

This is so awesome. I hope I do as well as you have. I am just 2weeks out.

You go lady. You are truly an inspiration. I agree on the cot/bed idea. I like those midday naps

I'm so jealous. You got to take an entire month off from work? I had the surgery on a Wednesday, and went back to work the following Monday.

And you do three miles everyday? Incredible. I walk about 2-3 miles a day. But jogging sounds like a pipe dream to me. And you jog for two whole miles? That is just spectacular.

However I can now run for 60 seconds without being out of breath. It's not quite jogging two miles, but for me, that's a big accomplishment. I hope to be able to jog one day. But honestly haven't jogged, because I've always hated it my entire life.

Yeah, she's a rockstar! ;)

Congratulations on your walking and even a bit of running! :)

Jealous here also. I have never been much of a jogger, but i would love to be able to walk 2 or 3 mile.
Every year here they do this thing called Zoo Lights darning the holidays. They setup all kinds of beautiful light displays at the zoo you can walk though at night. My goal it to do that walk this year. I’m taking tiny steps now. You have inspired me.

I started out just as you did. Little spurts. If outside walking at the park across the street, I would simply jog the 30 sec across the upper part of the loop. Then I decided to make it to the halfway point on the third side. I just kept going a little further each time. My sister loves to run and I have never seen the appeal before. When I would try it would hurt to breathe, my knee would shoot pains down my leg and I just couldn't get passed the negative feelings it gave me. I don't know what it was but one day I just decided to push it and see what would really happen. I made it a mile that day and wanted to push myself further but knew to take it slow. I am still fighting that because I want to run faster and farther but know if I push too hard, it will never happen.

And it was nice having a month off but to tell you the truth, I was going nuts at home! I missed being at work so much, lol. I am super impressed you went back to work the following Monday! Talk about hard work! That is truly amazing. :D
