My name is Tiffany. I am due to have sleeve gastrectomy in September sometime. My pre op is on Aug 16th! Yay! I have been struggling with the pre op diet requirements, although I am doing well with the exercise requirement! I really need some good ideas for tasty food that is healthy but doesnt taste like crap. Any ideas? :o or any ideas to make the food choices easier?
thanks bunches!

Hi Tiffany, welcome to the board.

That's tough question you posted. I found something that motivated me to get the surgery in the first place. My 5 year old grandson, so I keep his picture on my phone and look at it everytime I want to cheat or eat what I'm not supposed to. It helps me, most of the time.

HI Tiffany

Welcome to the board. I found a couple of things that helped me with the pre-surgery diet. I downloaded and used the noom app on my phone and I use some of the recipes from http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/. I liked being able to practice healthy high protein way of life before the surgery. Good luck in your journey,

Sharon

Thanks so much! I have been thinking alot about motivation, and I have it. I just like to eat good food, I think I will have to stick with protien shakes for a while and of course the fruit and veggies! I am excited and nervous about the the whole thing. I am wondering what kind of pain I will be in after the surgery - I am kind of a wimp.
I am single, will I need to have someone to help me the first few days? Should I have someone stay with me?
thanks for your help :)

Welcome! I'm new too. I have struggled with the pre-op weight loss too. After all, if I were good at this I wouldn't be having surgery! I too decided that having 1 or 2 meals a day of 11 oz protein shakes (Premium Protein from BJs) eliminated the decision making for me. My dinner isn't always perfect protein and a "free" veggie or salad, but I get better each week. I hope the shakes are preparing me for the strict 2 weeks before surgery.

Tiffany,

I had my daughter stay with me the first night, my wife is a nurse and works nights. After the first night, I was fine alone, mostly I was nervous. My wife was around for some of the first few days, so if you have a family member or friend that can stay with you, it might not be a bad idea. Give you peace of mind.
