Hi guys,
I'm 4.5 months post-op and seem to go down a size every 6-8 weeks so I'm in the middle of this financial dilemma. I've been stocking up on tees, tanks & leggings. I've found that at Kohls, Old Navy & JCP with sales & coupons you can get these really cheap. For work, I purchased a few jackets and cardigans that are too small for me to button up now but that I can wear open over over the inexpensive tanks and tees. Those items were a little more money (still inexpensive sale items) but these will transition with me through the next 2 sizes.
You will also go through your bras and undies quickly so you'll want to watch for sales on those as well. Hanes and/or Fruit of the Loom multi-pack, cotton undies go on sale at Target and Walmart often. If you see a good sale, get in your current size and the next one down! For bras, I watch for clearance at Lane Bryant on Cacique. Ordered 2 last week for $15 each (a HUGE markdown).
Keeping to these basics, I'm still spending less on clothes than I was at restaurants & on pizza/fast food before surgery.
One last thing to share, Dressbarn announced that they will be going out of business. I'm sad about it because they always carried the same styles in plus sizes as they did "regular" sizes. Hard to find. Anyway, I'm sure in the near future, they will be marking down inventory significantly. I'll make sure to post something when they do!
Good luck in your journeys!
