Hello

After many years of being over weight, I decided to take my weight loss to the next level. I have lost 48lbs since December 2025. It’s weird, not hungry but missing food. Tomorrow I start all liquids and am looking forward to a protein shake and some milk!

Welcome, Jenny. I'm confused about your dates. Did you have surgery? How did you lose the weight? What's "the next level?" We'd love to hear your story, but the liquid diet usually follows surgery, and missing food seems to be a post-op thing too.

Please tell us your story, in detail! and again, WELCOME!

Sorry to be confusing. I started taking a more serious goal of losing weight last fall. Then I had to have a couple of procedures, including a full hysterectomy. At my two week postoperative (Dec 19th, 2025) for my hysterectomy I weighed in at 410 pounds. At that point I had started taking Mojarro. My weight loss was on and off for a couple of months, but couldn’t seem to find a groove of a consistent weight loss. But I still kept trying. Then one day I made a decision to do some research on bariatric procedures. I had made an appointment in May to go over all my options for bariatric surgery. My date was 22 July 2026 when my surgery was. On the date of surgery I weighed 359. I plan on weighing myself weekly each Wednesday unless I’m not home on that day for whatever reason.

Food is a comfort for me. I’ve been already seeing a therapist for the last year and a half on other topics but also including weight issues. She herself has had a lap band so she understands quite a bit of where my mindset is. I’ll keep going to Therapy and luckily have friends who are very very supportive.

Today I get to be on a full liquid so my attempt this morning will be too honestly just have some milk. And then take the rest of the day from there.

Looking forward to making connections and sharing stories and advice and support in this group.

Congratulations and welcome the group! It sounds like you accomplished so much already.

I'm glad you found a therapist who understands bariatric surgery. The physical changes post surgery are only part of the journey, so working through the emotional side with a therapist should be really helpful.

Wishing you a smooth recovery, and I hope you'll keep us updated on how you're doing. Congratulations on taking this big step toward a healthier future!
