desperate to connect w/GBS patients NOT for weight loss

Hello, I'm hoppingpen and I am really looking for support from someone who has had the gastric bypass surgery to resolve issues not related to weight loss. My surgery is 4/28/21 and I will have a g-tube placed to make sure I don't lose weight from the surgery. I know I'm in the tiny minority out there, so I'm looking everywhere for some support to gain weight after the surgery, or at least maintain. So many thanks to any of you who could point me in the right direction.

Hi and welcome. I do remember coming across one or two people who mentioned they were not having the surgery to lose weight but for other health reasons but honestly can't remember if it was this group or one of the others I am in. If I come across anything, I will let you know. Good luck!

I had RNY for medical reasons and also had the g tube, 2 years ago now. Issues are mainly resolved, my weight has been stable for around 18 months. I had a few complications. I struggle to eat when tired or stressed, but find ways around it, such as milky drinks, protein shakes and Greek yogurt. Currently waiting to see an endocrinologist about hypoglycemia related to the gastric bypass. Learning to live with it, life goes on, I try not to let it get me down. It was a last resort for me after 2 failed surgeries. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
