If I get all my requirements done early will they schedule surgery in a timely fashion?
Usually insurance is the biggest holdup to the timing of surgery. Once you have everything completed and the insurance requirements are met, you generally will have to wait for insurance approval, and then have surgery scheduled. My whole process from 1st getting the initial paperwork to having surgery took 10 months. Seems like a long wait, but the last 3-4 months flew by as I prepared for surgery, shopping, mentally preparing for my new lifestyle, etc.If I get all my requirements done early will they schedule surgery in a timely fashion?
fingers are crossed. My process from start to finish went very fast. From the first visit to surgery was 77 days. I scheduled everything right away and finished all of the required appointments and tests within the first six weeks. My insurance company did not have a lot of requirements. However, I have heard that some people had to wait six months or longer per their insurance. For example, they might require 6 visits with a dietician (I only needed one). Also, even if you get everything done quickly and get insurance approval, it ultimately depends on how busy your surgeon’s schedule is. If a surgeon only performs surgeries one day each week, it will take longer to get on the schedule. There are so many factors that have to be considered. Fingers crossed that things go quickly for you.
