Post op I’ve lost 15 lbs. All within the first two weeks. Yay! On week 4 now and I haven’t lost any more weight since I switched to purées. I eat 3x a day, usually an egg with cheese, and I try to get my liquids in. I’ve struggled majorly with the protein shakes bc all of them cause nausea. I’m confused as to why I stopped losing. I figured I would maybe hit a lull at each phase but I feel like in two weeks I should have lost at least 1 pound...I know I need to walk more (exercise) It’s been raining daily where I live so the only exercise I really get is regular daily activities while tending to my house or my 1 year old. Feeling discouraged is an understatement right now.

I would highly recommend not stepping on the scale weekly or bi weekly. It will make you discouraged as you've come to find out. Your body dropped 15 lbs in two weeks and its adjusting itself to lose more. Keep doing what you are doing and the weight will come off. Also, walk more. Get a rain a jacket and waterproof boots. We have bipolar weather where I live and it's either pouring rain, hot and humid or windy/cold. Get your steps in if you want to lose weight quicker. It also does wonders for recovery and helps build your endurance.

Great perspective. Thanks so much! It helps to hear positive feedback. I will get to walking more. I know I have to!

Anytime, it may not seem like a lot but you are doing great. Losing 15 lbs in that short amount of time is fantastic. Don't let that scale make you feel any sort of way. I know its hard to not jump on but really try to only check in once a month or every 3 weeks.

There are some great indoor walking fitness videos on YouTube as well. Sounds like you’re doing ok. I’m going to find it hard not to step on a scale, but I’m also going to try and remember how I feel and how my clothes fit are going to be better for me.

Don’t be hard on yourself! I think our bodies are adjusting. I’ve stopped stepping on the scale for the same reason. I had surgery 6 weeks ago and am on my 2nd plateau. I feel that if I’m eating 300-400 calories a day the pounds should be melting off. They aren’t. My clothes are looser, I can put my socks on with no difficulty, no more creaking in my knees. So despite no progress on the scale I’m going to be happy for all the internal changes happening that I can’t see. I’m going to trust in the process. All the best to you on your journey!!!

Thank you so much! Feels good to know it’s common and I’m not alone. Wishing you continued success!

That’s always a great motivator!

I had my gastric sleeve surgery last week of February. I have lost some 20 lbs since my surgery. I also have noticed that my weight loss has definitely slowed down since I switched to soft food. A friend of mine tells me all the time " as long as you lose 2 lbs a week" you should be ok. I agree there are days when I do get discourage and question myself. I guess this is normal. My doctor tells me not to weigh myself on a daily basis. If I have to, I should weigh myself every 2 weeks. Hang in there.

Everyone loses at a different pace as well. This may be an overgeneralization, but it seems that those with more to lose tend to lose at a quicker pace, especially initially, than those with less to lose.

Don’t get discouraged about losing 1 or 2 pounds a week I think it’s just a stall that happens to us every once in a while . I was losing around 1 or 2 pounds a week for about a month . Actually today I weighed myself and I lost 5 pounds and I haven’t changed my diet at all

Yeah it’s frustrating but all of your comments really help. Thanks so much and good luck to you as well.

That could be true as well. I’m trying to take that into perspective. Thanks so much!

Thank you! Congrats on the weight loss. It’s helpful to know it will all balance out and the weight will drop eventually.

I hit week 4 today, I am down 18lbs. I am definitely losing slower too. We just have to keep moving on, make sure to keep active and don't get discouraged!
