I had an awesome surgeon and surgery. Just saying (: I haven't felt pain or difficulty swallowing, walking, whatever the other challenges are. Other than when I had to have a BM. Then I thought I was going to die. Wish I had been more prepared for that. Since then I feel like I always need to go but don't and I feel nauseous 24 hours a day. I know I'm doing something wrong

I'm glad your surgery and recovery have gone smoothly! I was so constipated after surgery that the Dr, had me on a stool softener and daily laxative for a week and a half but it felt like forever!

As for the nausea, try not to assume you're doing something wrong. You're still healing, and many people experience nausea for a variety of reasons. It might be worth checking in with your bariatric team if it continues. Hopefully as your body adjusts and you continue healing, things will start to settle down. Wishing you continued success on your journey!

Try adding a fiber laxative to your daily water intake. Without going into detail about the BM experience, let's just say the composition of the stool is so smooth, it literally just slides out with almost no pushing. I still keep a container of fiberlax in my pantry today, even though my surgery was 20 years ago. Lately there have been news stories indicating that fiberlax can contribute to cardiac health by reducing cholesterol.

Since you can't eat solid food which means you don't have fruits and vegetables to help contribute to the process, and you don't want to take a chemical laxative that can be bad for you, thank goodness you can get the fiber you need in a glass of water with fiberlax.

Make things as easy for you as possible during your healing process, and beyond. I can really relate to your story and still remember the struggle of evacuating stool as a waking nightmare!!!
