Congratulations on your surgery and finding this group!
Pre surgery there is a lot of communication, plans, testing and overall structure because of what your doctor/insurance company requires of you. The support drops off quickly, there are a few post surgery check ins with the Dr and possibly nutritionist, but after that - crickets! At least that was my experience. My search for support landed me here, because locally both hospitals closed their bariatric programs which had great support groups and my surgeon moved his practice out of state. I still meet with a nutritionist every 3 months but really miss the interaction from the hospital's bariatric group led by a social worker. I'm still looking for a more interactive support group, but I wonder if something like that could be created through this site.
