Hello. Just wanted to check in. Hope this finds everyone doing well! So, good news and bad news for me this week.

Bad news: Turns out there's something going on with my parathyroid gland and it may be a tumor. I'm not going to worry about it though. My endocrinologist was optimistic and is still recommending the surgery. Also, had sleep study and I have apnea. Icky cpap on its way. :(

Good news: I've been working so hard on eating well that I've lost 15 lbs! That's a bowling ball! Yay :) I'm feeling better already, and today I incorporated exercise into my life. I'm starting out slow, but I'm really enjoying this whole process. I see a happier me in my future. For the first time in a very, very long time I feel HOPEFUL. ♥️

Sorry to hear about the possible tumor. Please keep us updated on that.

But as for your other bad news.... I have good news! Going through with this surgery can help with sleep apnea! So the cpap may only be temporary in your house. Hopefully you will be able to get rid of it as you get rid of the weight and any other health issues!

she's right! I had severe sleep apnea. In my first sleep test, I stopped breathing for a minute and 20 seconds, which I couldn't do right now for my life! After I lost the weight and the air was coming through too hard, I had a second test, and my apnea was half as bad as it used to be.

I know all the down sides of sleep apnea, but I have to say, after my first good night's sleep wearing the mask, I was in love with it. I had no idea how sleep-deprived I'd been.

Also, if your unit has a heater for water, and you crank it up, you can swab the insides of your nostrils with vaporub when you have a cold and put on the mask. Nothing ever worked better at making me breathe when my head was stuffed up.
They came in and put the mask on me in the middle of the night, I slept the next 4 hours completely uninterrupted. In fact, when he came in to wake me up, I was shocked because I had slept those 4 hours ON MY BACK! Crazy stuffs!
