J.Lee-My surgery was on 2/27/12 and I still have problems with some solid foods, primarily whole meats. I have to depend on canned tuna, chicken, turkey and cottage cheese for protein. I usually drink 1 low carb protein shake a day to get all my protein in. My surgeon recommended 1 to 2 weeks for each meal plan phase. It took me until week 5 to start pureed foods and I stayed on soft foods for over a month because anything more solid made my pouch hurt and made me nauseated. I never had a hard time eating enough calories because I got my appetite back after week 5, it is just the solid meats that I have a problem with. I even have a hard time with fresh / frozen whole fish even though the texture is soft and mosit.
My scale has been "stuck" for just over a month. I'm not making any excuses, I know where the problem is and am working on fixing it. I did lose very quickly in the beginning when I could only handle certain foods and my weight was exactly where it should have been on my last follow up visit 2 months ago. As long as your surgeon and / or nutritionist have no concerns about your caloric intake don't worry about it. Don't compare yourself to anyone else as we all lose weight at much different rates.
