Having ruin y in Sept.

So I live in RI and am flying out to PA for surgery. Never had any surgery in my life so I dont know what to expect. I currently weigh about 450. And am looking forward to the weight loss. But very nervous about the procedure and what to expect. Any info would help.

Totally understandable. Having trust in your surgeon is key. Do you have a friend or family member traveling with you? When is your surgery? Which procedure are you having. Will it be laparoscopic?

Yes my wife will be with me. My surgeon seems great. My surgery is Sept 26. Laparoscopic ruin y. Possible small hernia fix at the same time.

I just had RNY on August 5th. I have felt pretty good from the RNY, where I had 95% of my discomfort was from the hiatal hernia repair. I am 17 days out and feeling almost back to normal. I did have a reaction of all things, to the tape that was covering my wound from the hernia repair. I always have issues with tape and glue.
I think the thing that helped most was being to sure to keep up the walking after surgery for the gas and to help with the hernia repair.
