Hello. I started my weight loss journey recently and made it through the pre surgery diet. It was hard sometimes, but I was determinedto do well and lost 8 pounds! I just had Gastric Bypass with a hiatal hernia repair yesterday. I am home and having some pain and a little nausea. I am finding it hard to get my fluids in. I feel full quickly and don't want to drink too much at a time and mess up my surgery. I am glad the surgery is over, but scared I will drink too much at a time. I feel no hunger at all. How long will my abdomen hurt? I hope this journey will be worth it.

Congratulations on having the surgery!

You're only one day post-op, so it's completely normal to have some pain, nausea, and difficulty getting your fluids in. Your stomach and abdomen have been through a lot.

Try not to worry too much about drinking too much. Just focus on taking tiny sips, following your team's instructions, and staying as consistent as you can with your fluids. Most people find that it gets easier day by day as the swelling starts to go down.

Wishing you a smooth recovery!
