Thank you for allowing me to be here! I had the sleeve on 12/18/23 with a surgery weight of 315. Due to GERD getting worse and developing severe esophagitis, I had the bypass revision on 5/13/25. I feel amazing! Once I reached my goal of 160, I changed it to 150. Now I'm 138, but not by choice! I still struggle with food. I cannot eat or drink as much as I "should" be able to. I cannot afford to lose any more (NEVER imagined *I* would be saying that!). People hug me and tell me they can feel my ribs. They've recently done tests, but nothing has shown up as to "why" I'm struggling. At my 8 month post op in January, I asked how many calories should I be getting in a day. She said 900-1200. I freaked out and completely broke down. I told her that sounded like weight gain calories. She assured me that was not the case. I have been absolutely terrified of gaining even 1 pound. Upon her suggestion, I agreed to meet with one of their bariatric psychologists. My first visit was last week. It was interesting. And emotional! My head is pretty messed up with all things bariatric and food related. I go back in 2 weeks and it looks like I'll be going there for awhile (I've been seeing my regular therapist for years for my other "issues".
). There is a lot to unpack! I know it won't always be easy, but I'm ready to do the hard work. I'm more than ready to completely live my life the way God designed for me and created me for (which has always been my ultimate "why"). I'm ready to finally have a healthy relationship with food.
