I did two big no no yesterday. I has sugery last monday and yesterday after being home for four days i was straving I ate helf the cheese off a slice of pizza and part of a rice crisp treat. I got the runs from it which I deserved but do you think i did damage to my new pouch. I do not want to have strentched it. I did not eat them at the same time and did chew the them both up very very well.

Wow.....get to a support group stat! Stretching your pouch is the least of your worries...damaging the staple line is....your new stomach pouch cannot dissolve foods like it used to. You are on a liquid diet for a reason...to let your pouch heal...yes you can cause some damage...hopefully you didn't...you will know it sooner or later, if you continue with nausia, pain etc., You need support and help to keep on track...wheres your coach to deter you from that type of eating or cravings? Remember why you had the surgery in the first place...I hope you get stronger and are able to get back on track with no damage to your pouch.

Hi Melissa, What kind of surgery did you have, was it a Lap Band, Sleeve or RnY? You shouldn't feel real hungy this soon after surgery with the RnY or Sleeve, please find a live support group in your area, we can be here for moral support but it would be much better if you had someone locally you could talk with. Melissa-The runs are probably dumping syndrome. You should have information about this in the handouts you were given along with your meal plan instructions. READ the instructons over and over until you understand them 100%. You must follow those meal plans otherwise you will end up with serious complications to the surgery, especially the stapled areas. Your digestive system has been altered in a way that requires the re-introduction of foods in a specific order (see the 4 meal plan phases). I don't want to sound mean but you need to stop eating things you aren't supposed to or you will find yourself in the emergency room and probably back in surgery.

Go grocery shopping and get things that are allowed on the meal plan phase you are in. Sip on some broth and have a couple of sugar free popsicles when you feel hungry. Once you are allowed to do so, sip on a protein drink or have a sugar free pudding cup or some warm Cream of Wheat made thin with milk and some no calorie sweetener. Stay completely away from sugar, rice krispy bars and pizza cheese, you have healthier and SAFER options available.

Make sure to come back to the forum to let us know how you are doing.

Melissa,
I agree with the other posts help is what you need. Get to your Doctor just to make sure things are OK!! But here is another suggestion which really should have been asked before you had this surgery how serious are you to want to make this happen? It's not for the faint of heart. It's a tough row to hoe but you've had the surgery and you cannot turn back now. It's time to be serious about the choices you've made. Take positive action. Get someone in your home to help you get organized and then stick to your plan...do not deviate from it until the Doctor tells you your ready for the next step. Please be Safe!!
I want to see you succeed...because nothing tastes better than weight loss feels!
Wishing you Happiness, Joy and Success! Ed
