I haven't been on in a while. Life went crazy.
I was on vacation and got a call that my brother was legally brain dead. Packed up and headed right to the hospital. As an organ donor they keep on you life support until they can arrange everything and do surgery to remove your organs. It was 4 days of complete torture! Organ donation is a wonderful thing but man does it really drags things out. So far we know that he saved the life of a 71 y/o woman with a kidney donation.
I am the middle child of 3, having had 2 brothers; both of which died in their 30's!! It is so depressing!
I couldn't eat, or sleep, or even remember to drink. Today is my "weight check" day and I even forgot to do that this morning. But I managed and yesterday was the first time since I got the news that I hit my protein and fluid goals, so moving back into the right direction.
My 3 month post-op mark is coming up next week. I plan to retake measurements and looking forward to the results.
I had lost 96 lbs as of last time I weighed so I am pretty sure I hit the 100 lb mark by now! Exciting! A few people have noticed and said something about it which is nice to hear sometimes.
I was with my friend and her husband yesterday and she is preparing to have WLS also, I mentioned something about surgery and her husband looked confused and said "you have WLS" I said yes, and he said "Oh, that's why you are looking so good". I was kind of annoyed by it. I responded" No, I am looking good because I am working my ass off!" I really don't think he meant it the way I took it, but every little thing seems to be getting to me while under this stress of my brother passing.
Ok- enough of my rambling!
I hope everyone is doing well and I will update again at my 3 month mark!
