Good evening all,
I'm new to the site and wanted to introduce myself. I'm 51 years old and made this decision last August. I have surgery (Sleeve) scheduled for May 15th. I'm excited to embark on this journey and I'm setting myself up with all the support I can. I look forward to getting to know folks here.

Hi! Welcome. I'm sure I speak for others when I say we are happy to have you and congratulations on all you've accomplished thus far. Woot woot! I haven't had the call for my surgery day yet but we are likely looking at June or July for the RNY. I had decided that would benefit me more than the sleeve but then again I haven't spoken to the surgeon on that in any detail. Keep me posted on your journey cause I sure can use the motivation. I might be able to give a little too. Again, welcome.

Hello!!! Thats so exciting!! I cannot wait to see your progress! I finally get my date on May 9th! Hopefully it ends up being early June, cannot wait to spend this summer getting into shape!

Thank you.. I will be sure to keep you all posted. It's getting real now. I had my pre admission phone call from the hospital yesterday to review medications and instructions. Next week it's a barium swallow and a final meeting with my team (Surgeon, Dr, Dietician and Psycholigist) then I will begin the 2 week pre surgery diet..It's nice to find this site and others who are on this journey..

welcome and congrats... I moved from Maine 8ish months ago.... You will be so happy you did this... excited for you... If you get off track talk to us we will try and help and get you remotivated... We all have been through this and will be happy to take the journey with you.... Best of the luck to a new and healthier you....

What part of Maine did you live in? When was your surgery? 3 weeks from today is surgery day.. I'm getting excited. My final appointments with my team are this week.

We lived in Bath. I had surgery on the 14th of Feb this year.... So glad I did this..

That's awesome. I live in York now, and have a place in Greenville too..just finished up 5 appointments this morning at Mass General... All is a go. I start my pre op diet Monday.. Whoot Whoot..

Good luck Jackie, the pre-op and post-op diet is the worst, after that it is smooth sailing, I'm so happy I had it done

Hi Lynn,
I'm doing great. Post op day 19 I've followed my plan and have had no issues. It's amazing. I've had no issues with nausea or getting my nutrition in. I truly feel blessed. Keep me posted on your journey. Feel free to hit me up with any questions.
