I'm embarrassed to say that I don't even know how to post anything on a forum so I hope this comes out right. I've decided on gastric bypass and started my journey one month ago. I've been googling my heart out with questions and found this forum (thank you!). I hope I can get some answers and opinions from you guys to put my mind at ease.

Good luck with your journey. I had gastric bypass a year ago and it was the best decision ever. It took about 10 months total from beginning the paperwork to the actual surgery. Please keep in touch & browse the archives for lots of info.

I should have mentioned that I am 49 yrs old with a birthday coming up in november. So I'm considering my bypass a 50th bday gift to myself

Sounds like a great present to yourself. Mine is next Friday so on Saturday hubby wants a bbq/pool party in the pool yard, with the new patio and pool deck.

I started my 2week pre-op diet on my 50th birthday, so no cake for me lol. Its the best gift I've ever given myself and a healthier, happier me is better for everyone around me too.
