Newbie need help

Im about 6 to 7 months out from surgery and finally got weighed yesterday to find out im only down like 30 lbs...i definitely dont drink water like I used to to and have been picking at sugar shit candy because its sometimes easier to eat than say chicken breast... I havent even seen the surgeon but 1 time...something is off please help
 
Try not to panic or beat yourself up. The fact that you recognize something feels off and reached out for help is an important step.

Struggling with water intake, protein, slider foods, and not getting much follow-up support can make this journey hard. I don't enjoy chicken breasts, I prefer chicken thighs and bake several at one time to eat throughout the week. You can also freeze them cooked and easily thaw and microwave to make things easier. I also cook ground turkey with taco seasoning and make nachos using the nacho Quest chips. I can't remember the last time I ate a chicken breast.

Try to focus on small basics instead of trying to “fix everything” at once:
  • increase water and other drinks (I put everything I plan to drink each day in the door of my fridge as a reminder)
  • prioritize protein (find foods you enjoy and use shortcuts)
  • keep easy protein options on hand
  • start tracking your food and drinks in an app (MyFitnessPal or Baritastic) seeing the numbers for protein, water, sugar, and calories can really help
  • try not to let guilt turn into giving up
This journey is hard, and struggling does not mean you failed.
 
Thank u so much...i noticed that eating candy was at times more easy to eat than chicken breat...im a chicken breast girl n wing...i think life stress and aging always having to be mindful and always watch what I eat is and will always be apart of maintaining and losing. I do yhank u Monday im calling my surgeon im going up on the water and no sweets for now
