Hello new friends. My name is Marianne and my gastric bypass was November 7th 2017. Within one year I had almost reached my goal of 189 lb. I started at 486 lb and couldn't have been happier with my results. Since then life has changed drastically I moved thousands of miles from my children and family and trying to start a new life.
I've gained back about 30 lb and am unhappy where I am. I don't want to go back under the knife I want to do this on my own because I lost the original weight on My own by listening to everything my surgeon said and I know I can do it.
There is just no one in my world right now who understands when I'm going through!
Any encouragement or friendships are gladly welcome.
I currently by the way live in Florida but I'm originally from Maryland.
I hope you all have a beautiful weekend!

Welcome! The amount of weight you lost is absolutely incredible, and maintaining the majority of it through so many life changes says a lot about your strength and resilience. A 30 lb regain does not erase everything you’ve accomplished.

Moving away from your children, family, and support system is a huge emotional adjustment, and a lot of people underestimate how much stress and loneliness can affect your weight loss journey. The fact that you want to refocus now instead of giving up says a lot.

You’re not alone here, and people in this group understand that the mental and emotional side of bariatric life can be just as hard as the physical part. Glad you found your way here, and wishing you a beautiful weekend too!
