Okie is sick

We woke up this morning to a lot of bright red feces on our bedroom carpet. We called the vet and we are taking Okie in. They did not have any open appointments, but since it's an emergency, they will take him as a drop off and call us when he is ready to come home.

I am so scared. There was so much blood. Please send your best wishes to my best friend!

Apparently Okie has stress colitis. He's going to be fine. He's on antibiotics and a bland diet for a while. His colon is inflamed, and there are both red and white blood cells in his feces. Otherwise his physical exam was normal. They believe his worrying about me caused his condition as they could find no physical cause. My poor little guy lost 2 lbs too! Bless his little heart, he's gotta stop trying to carry my burdens! I'm supposed to be carrying his!

Thanks for putting up with all my drama. I'm just so relieved that Okie is okay.

I just say this entire thread for the first time today (Sunday), sorry I missed it and didn't send in my well wishes. BUT, I am so happy to hear that Okie will be okay. Whew, I know how much that little guy means to you and apparently you mean the world to him too or he wouldn't have been so stressed.
