Post op pain

Day 3 post op…. Still having a lot of incisional pain and abdominal wall pain. Was prescribed oxycodone but makes me itch.

Narcotics are no good for me either, the stronger the worse it is. I usually get sick and feel worse than if I was just in the pain. Maybe try tylenol and see if it helps?
I hope you can get some relief and start feeling better soon!

Itch all over or just at the incision? I would let the doctor know.

If you’re still having pain issues and the meds make you itch - you may be having a reaction to the pain meds. Talk to your surgical team. See if they can give you something else. Best of luck to you!

Really? I thought Gabapentin was for epilepsy and seizures.

It’s now being used for pain. My mom takes it for neuropathy.

I took Gabapentin in the past for fibromyalgia pain; unfortunately, I need the extended release version, which is made irrelevant by my surgery, so I am still trying to find the right med.
